"The yarn is very easy to work with and does not split. It feels a bit rough for a baby blanket but once I finished it and washed it in the delicate cycle it softens up nicely. The blanket when done is very pretty. One word of caution though. Be VERY careful with the gauge as there is just enough yarn to finish. I had to drop down from the H hook to a G hook to get the gauge. "

"I purchase baby Afghan kits when on sale. The prices are always extremely reasonable. I do not pay more than $19.99. Each kit is completed to supply our local neonatal intensive care (NICU) with homemade, full-sized baby blankets to be used by the family in whatever way they choose. I’ve been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. Herschners continues as my “go-to” resource! This pattern I like for its texture, single color, and edging. "

"I chose Fairy Princess for the color. I love this afghan. I like the yarn and would probably work with it again except not for a baby afghan. I found it a bit stiff for a baby. I really like the variegated Fairy Princess. The end result is beautiful, but I found it a bit difficult to work with because the color changes so often. I had to really pay attention to where the next stitch goes instead of being able to split my attention between crochet and whatever else was going on, i.e. watching TV"
