Crochet Water Bottle Holder Blog

Materials:

Premier® Hipster Cotton Yarn (100% cotton, #3 DK weight yarn)-Tropical Dream

US size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook

Pattern Notes:

• The Bottom and Sides of the water bottle holder is crocheted in joined rounds. The strap is crocheted in turned rows.

• Depending on the size of your water bottle, you may need to adjust the number of rnds to fit your bottle.

• Any yarn and hook size can be used for this pattern, but make sure to compare the size of the bottom circle to your water bottle as you work, as fewer/more rounds may be needed on the Bottom before beginning the Sides.

100% cotton yarn is recommended, as it absorbs excess moisture and can be easily washed.

Start with a magic ring or ch 4 and sl st into the first ch to create a circle.

Rnd 3: *Hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st; rep from * around, sl st to join, ch 1. (18 sts)

Rnd 4: *Hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st; rep from * around, sl st to join, ch 1. (24 sts)

Rnd 6: *Hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st; rep from * around, sl st to join, ch 1. (36 sts)

Check the size of the Bottom to your water bottle. It should be slightly wider than the base of your water bottle. If the Bottom is too big, rip out rows until the size matches. If the Bottom is too small, continue the increase pattern for the number of rnds necessary until it is the right size before continuing to Sides.

Continue in this pattern until the bottle holder is as long/short as you’d like. Do not fasten off.

Strap:

Note: The strap can be made longer or shorter to your liking by adding more rows. If you want a wider strap, hdc in more than 3 sts for Row 27, work the strap as noted, and connect to the same number of stitches on the other side of the holder.

Row 27: Ch 1, hdc into the next 3 sts. Turn your work.

Rows 29-46: Rep row 27 (or continue until the strap is to the length of your choosing.

Row 47: Starting at the last hdc in Row 27, sk 15 sts from Rnd 26, sl st into the next 3 sts of Rnd 26. If you made the strap wider in Row 27, sk fewer sts before you sl st, and work the number of sl sts to match the width of your strap.

Fasten off. Weave in any ends and enjoy your new water bottle holder!
