Good go-to yarn
Red Heart Super Saver is my #1 go-to yarn for just about anything. It washes and wears well with no special care involved. Although I normally dry my crochet items flat, this yarn is machine washable and dryable. I will note that the more it is dried, the faster it pills, but it's well worth it's weight in gold, in my opinion.
