Description

Also called the “sparrow hawk,” American kestrels are unique in that they are the only North American falcon or hawk to nest in tree cavities and woodpecker holes, as well as in the crevices of buildings, holes in banks, and nest boxes. Reminiscent of an antique print, this American kestrel by Sharon Pope is cross-stitched on tea-dyed linen.

Materials needed to complete: cross-stitch fabric and DMC cotton embroidery floss

This is a downloadable pattern, first published in the May 2003 issue of Stitcher’s World magazine. Supplies used to stitch this pattern were available at the time of publication. However, you may need to find substitutes if supplies are no longer available.
