Thea Gouverneur

Inspired by the flowers that had always been an important part of her life, Thea Gouverneur started designing her own cross-stitch pieces while working as an art teacher. She took her designs and started her own design business in 1959. By the 1970s she was quite famous in the Netherlands, and over the years her brand has expanded around the world. When designing, she aims to create unique and colorful designs that offer stitchers the experience of “painting” with thread to create a piece of art.
